Power Supplies

Group Overview: Power Supplies

Designs for availability and hazardous locations

The fieldbus power supply provides power for the field devices and enables communication between the field devices and the control system via one common cable. It comes in two forms - as a Power Hub and as a Basic Power Supply.

The Power Hub consists of a motherboard and individual power supply modules. The modular design allows precise solutions for different applications and types of explosion protection. Customized host connections enable efficient and error free connection to various host systems. Power Hubs are available in three different models:

  High-Density Compact Universal
Compactness ++ +++ +
Low heat emission ++ +++ +
N° of segments 4 8 1, 2, or 4
Redundant power modules Always Always Selectable
Redundant bulk power supply connection Always Always Always
Redundant host connection N/A N/A Selectable

High-Density Power HubHigh-Density Power Hub
Meets the basic needs of most applications; with low heat dissipation and power module redundancy.
Compact Power HubCompact Power Hub
Our most compact power supply system features very low heat emission. This makes it the first choice for large scale projects.
Universal Power HubUniversal Power Hub
Features the most options and is the perfect choice for special requirements.
Basic Power SupplyBasic Power Supply
An all-in-one module for DIN rail installation. Each module provides power to a single segment.

Fieldbus power supplies

Only one cable is required for power and data communication. Fieldbus power supplies put the power on the cable. Our power supplies are certified for Zone 2/ Div 2 installation. Different voltages and supply current levels up to 500 mA give you a choice of explosion protection:

  • The High-Power Trunk
  • FISCO
  • Entity

Pepperl+Fuchs power supplies always feature passive impedance generation. The impedance prevents the fieldbus signal from being short circuited by the low internal resistance of the power supply. The passive design uses resistance and inductances providing dependability and availability for your application.

Power Hubs are based on motherboards – with optional redundancy; high-density versions of the popular Power Hub family reduce space requirements and emphasize cost-efficiency.  Basic models supply single segments and include all components in one 20 mm wide housing.
